This photo of Ken Kolakowski wouldn’t frighten too many opponents but he was “one heck of a player,” Coach, Gus Alfieri once told sports editor, Larry Sherman of the Long Island Press. Kolakowski was an emerging junior in 1973, and would blossom into a 6-4 jumping jack that could block shots consistently while shooting 65 per cent from the floor. Kolakowski in 1974 was voted the MVP in the Top Eight Classic and gained a scholarship to St. Francis of Loretto.
